Evan Hirasawa has been teaching art lessons for more than twenty years in New England and in Chapel Hill. She is a certified art teacher and has a background in art therapy and working with children with special needs. She studied at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington D.C, Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, MA, Lesley College in Cambridge, MA and Kaji Aso Institute for the Arts in Boston, MA. Martin Stam was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Growing up in a musical family, he began playing violin at age five and then continued with piano, cello and, finally, the double bass.
Mr. Stam holds a bachelor of music degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was the recipient of the Kay Keiser Jazz Scholarship. He also recently completed his masters in classical performance from The Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College where he was honored with the Saul Zolot Classical Music Award. His teachers include Homer R. Mensch, Joseph Bongiorno, Leonid Finkelsteyn and John Benitez. Martin performs actively in both the classical and jazz idioms in New York and North Carolina.
Hannah Chalut is modern dancer, polarity therapist, and mother of 3. She holds a BFA in Dance from SUNY Brockport and has studied extensively with Garth Fagan Dance, Shen Wei, and the ADF. She has an active practice in polarity therapy, and teaches polarity yoga and stress reduction courses throughout the area. She was a professional dancer with Shen Wei Dance Arts from 2000-2001 and currently directs Open Air Dance, The Movement Choir, and Hannah Chalut and Co. Kids. Her 2 youngest children, Aurora and Mathias, currently attend IMS in the French classroom
